Damafing Keita Thomas, PhD, Licensed Psychologist, Practice Founder & Owner

Dr. Thomas provides individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of clinical issues. She also provides couples therapy regarding issues such as communication problems, pre-marital issues and marital problems.

Dr. Thomas’ clinical practice is largely influenced by empirical research, and she has received specialized training in Health Psychology, which focuses on how mental, emotional and social factors affect a person’s physical well-being. 

Her proudest roles are as a wife (20 years of marriage) and mother of two. Realizing that being a parent is one of the hardest jobs there is, often without any compass or effective parenting tools or strategies, Dr. Thomas supports parents, one family at a time.

Education & Experience:

Licensed Psychologist with 18 years of clinical experience 

PhD in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University 

MA in Counseling Psychology from Clark Atlanta University 

BA in Psychology with a Minor in French from Georgia Southwestern State University   

Personal: 

A native of Mali, West Africa, Dr. Thomas also grew up in Tuskegee, Alabama, and Montezuma, Georgia. She is an avid tennis player. She enjoys spending time with family, watching PBS documentaries, listening to all kinds of music, especially inspirational and international, and participating in monthly meetings with her small group of fellow moms.
